Afyonkarahisar is a city located in the central-west Anatolia part of the Aegean Region and has 14570 kilometer square acreage. It is neighbour with Eskişehir in north, Konya in east, Uşak in west, Burdur in south, Isparta in southeast, Denizli southwest. Its altitude is 1034 meters and it has 16 county with the central district. Provincial border of the city is on Aegean, Mediterranean and Central Anatolia regions.

Afyonkarahisar is at the junction point of the railways and motorways which connect the east to west and  south to north making transportation easy. The distance between Afyonkarahisar and some important cities is:

  • Afyonkarahisar- İzmir 325 km and it lasts nearly 5 hours by bus,
  • Afyonkarahisar- Ankara 257 km and it lasts nearly 3 hours by bus,
  • Afyonkarahisar- İstanbul 457 km and it lasts nearly 6 hours by bus,
  • Afyonkarahisar- Antalya 287 km and it lasts nearly 3.5 hours by bus,
  •  Afyonkarahisar- Konya 230 km and it lasts nearly 3 hours by bus.

Afyonkarahisar is in a very lucky position with regard to railways because of its location and the  old investments. Afyonkarahisar city center is the only example in Turkey where four different railways cross. It is very easy to reach the city from a lot of cities in Turkey.
