(1) The language of instruction for all programs, except those with a mandatory foreign language preparatory class, is Turkish.
(2) Students placed in programs with a mandatory foreign language preparatory class are directed to the foreign language preparatory class if they do not possess the required foreign language proficiency certificate for the program. Upon request, students may register for the TÖMER preparatory class. The time spent in the TÖMER preparatory class is counted toward the duration specified for the foreign language preparatory class.
(3) The Turkish proficiency of students placed in programs where the language of instruction is Turkish is determined by TÖMER.
(4) Students placed in programs where the language of instruction is Turkish and who do not possess a Turkish proficiency certificate accepted by TÖMER are directed to the TÖMER preparatory class.
(5) Students placed in programs where the language of instruction is Turkish and who fail to reach the required level of Turkish proficiency to commence education within one year from the date of registration will have their enrollment with the University terminated.
(6) The status of students in the Turkish preparatory class is reported by TÖMER to the Student Affairs Department and the relevant unit of enrollment. Accordingly, class advancement procedures are handled by the Student Affairs Department, while enrollment termination and other procedures are carried out by the student’s registered unit.
